Purpose

This module explores the key topic of transport planning - an activity most evident in the local and regional transport plans and strategies that relevant local authorities are required to publish, and which provide the basis on which central government funding is distributed.

Benefits

It is very important that land use planners have some understanding of the dynamics of transport change so that their plans take account of the influence of transport trends and developments on the spatial landscape, and vice versa.
